NBC finally mentions safe schools czar

Thanks to Newsbusters, we now know that NBC has finally mentioned safe schools czar Kevin Jennings. The progressive news network ignored him when it surfaced that he advised a young student who had a sexual encounter with an older man in a bus station to use a condom. And when it was revealed that his group GLSEN was teaching young students sexual acts during special seminars. And when GLSEN posted a reading list that included gay pornographic material. But with the recent spate of bullying at a Massachusetts school that led to a student's suicide, NBC Nightly News finally found face time for Jennings.
ROSSEN: In Springfield, Massachusetts, a young boy hanged himself last year after being teased about his size. In Ohio, Jessie Logan hanged herself after a nude photo was spread around her school. Experts say warning signs are often there.
BARBARA COLOROSO: They hang up from their phone and they're sad or sullen, they get off the Internet and they look a little frightened, these are all clues that you and I as parents need to be clued in to.
ROSSEN: And education officials are worried, too, worried bullying is causing a drop in the graduation rate. Now the federal government is pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into a new anti-bullying campaign.
KEVIN JENNINGS (United States Department of Education): What keeps me up at night, and everyone in the US Department of Education, is the idea that out there there are children who'd rather die than go to school.
No comment was afforded to parents kept up at night from having their children taught "fisting" at one of Jennings' seminars. The report also promoted Jennings' $410 million anti-bullying campaigns without mentioning their real intent. The initiative is aimed at grading schools based on "climate" -- specifically how gay-friendly the schools are. Schools that fully incorporate LGBT themes into the curriculum would be rated as "inclusive" while schools that didn't would fail. All this is at the exclusion of Catholic schools, which are expressly forbidden from promoting gay lifestyles.
NBC is owned by General Electric. GE's CEO, Jeffrey Immelt, is an ardent Obama backer and sits on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve. His closeness to the administration has helped GE win lucrative health care and green energy contracts with the government. NBC's sister station, MSNBC, is a bastion of Obama adoration and regularly attacks the administration's critics.

Safe schools czar: Obama recruited me!

One of the most controversial appointees in the Obama Administration is Kevin Jennings, the so-called safe schools czar. He gained notoriety after it surfaced that he had brushed off a 16-year-old boy, seeking advice after having a sexual encounter with an older man in a Boston bus station, by saying he hoped they'd used a condom. His group, GLSEN, has been criticized for sponsoring seminars that teach perverse sex techniques to students and for recommending pornography on their reading list.
Just how did such an extremist end up in a presidential administration? In a recent (and rare) speech at the National Press Club, Jennings revealed that Obama specifically sought him out for the czar job. Video courtesy of CNS News:

“President Obama got elected and they were looking for someone to run the safe schools program, and since I worked to make schools safe, they asked me if I would take the job,” Jennings said in a speech last week at the National Press Club.
...
“Honestly, I never, ever saw myself in public office – it wasn’t an aspiration I’ve ever had,” Jennings said. “If I was given the chance to be part of the administration to take what I’ve learned from 25 years in education and apply it to making schools safer, (and) if I said no, that would be hypocritical.”
It is curious that Obama aggressively recruited Jennings for a "safe schools" position. Jennings' only experience in education involves promoting gay tolerance (and occasionally gay pornography). There are countless other educational groups that deal with more relevant issues to young students. The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program, for example, does an excellent job educating children about drugs, a more pressing concern for parents than gay tolerance.
Jennings' new career in public service means he gets to enforce his views on the rest of the nation. As we reported previously, Jennings' office is looking into judging schools based on "climate" -- meaning how gay-friendly a school is. A positively-rated "inclusive" school is one where gay themes are fully integrated throughout the entire curriculum, as far down as kindergarten. Schools with poor climates, such as Catholic schools, would presumably face some sort of retribution. Obama awarded Jennings' office $410 million in his budget.

As national debt skyrockets, safe schools czar awash in funding

However bad the economy gets, we can all rest assured that safe schools czar Kevin Jennings will always have plenty of money. Jennings is the radical gay activist whose group GLSEN sponsored an event that taught young students the art of "fisting", a sex act that can't be explained on our family-safe blog. The invaluable Citizen Link Blog has the latest on Obama's alliance with Jennings.
"President Obama’s proposed 2011 budget would allocate $410 million for programs overseen by Jennings. That’s an increase of $45 million.
So want does Jennings intend to do with this money?
For starters, he says he’s going to make 'school climate' measurement a top priority—and, in fact, he’d love for 'school climate' to eventually be made part of the 'Common Core' national standards movement! He plans to begin with 'a new grant program coming out of this department where we’ll be providing possibly as much as $70 million for investments in school climate projects.'"
So what does "school climate" mean exactly?
"Under Jennings’ leadership, GLSEN has provided students with a “school climate” continuum measurement tool. This tool reveals a lot about Jennings’ true goals: A positively rated 'inclusive school,' for instance, is defined as one where 'LGBT themes are fully integrated into curricula across a variety of subject areas and grade levels.'
I.e., Jennings and GLSEN want homosexual, bisexual and transgender themes taught in every subject at every grade, all the way down to the kindergarten level, maybe even preschool."
So what would happen to a school that wasn't "inclusive"? Catholic schools, for example, don't always teach directly that homosexuality is sinful, but they must at least present the idea. Would Catholic schools, which regularly outperform public schools in every way, be denied funding? Or sued? And how far would a school have to go to be called inclusive? The great indoctrinator Jennings hasn't made any of this clear yet.

Things you won't hear during Obama's State of the Union tonight

Leave it to the Irish.
Paddy Power, an Irish on-line betting service, is offering odds on the length of Obama's speech, the color of his tie, and which political cliche he will utter first.
The favored cliche, at odds of 4-to-1, is "heath care reform." The longshot, 500-to-1, is "always bet on black." (Oddly, the phrase "I won't seek re-election" is a mere 250-to-1.)
In the same spirit as the good people at Paddy Power, here are some of the biggest longshots for tonight's address.
"I admit that my attempt at health care reform was a complete debacle and I take full responsibility."
"I believe the people at ACORN acted stupidly."
"Corruption and radicalism in our government cannot be tolerated. I'll be immediately firing Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, John Holdren, Cass Sunstein, Hillary Clinton, Ray LaHood, Lisa Jackson, Carol Browner, Kevin Jennings, Adolfo Carrion Jr., Ron Bloom, Patrick Gaspard, Ezekiel Emanuel, Mark Lloyd, Melanne Verveer, Farah Pandith, and Todd Stern."
"I believe special interest money and influence in Washington is a problem. And let me make it clear: That includes unions. Unions are part of the problem."
"This is in no way President Bush's fault."
"I have read and studied the Founding Fathers closely. I understand that our government is always to be a limited one. I know that our country was conceived in Lockean liberalism, which guarantees every man and woman personal liberty. I trust the American people enough to let them make their own decisions and not to intrude on them with government."
"So how about that special election up in Massachusetts last week, huh?"
"Let us be sure that those who come after will say of us in our time, that in our time we did everything that could be done. We finished the race; we kept them free; we kept the faith. Thank you very much. God bless you, and God bless America."
The last line is from Ronald Reagan's 1984 State of the Union address. Don't hold your breath waiting for that one.

Safe schools czar Kevin Jennings promoted pornographic books to children

For years, Barack Obama's safe schools czar Kevin Jennings served as executive director of a gay rights education group called the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). On its web site, the group published a list of books recommended for classroom reading in order to overcome gay prejudice. But an examination of 11 of the books GLSEN was recommending for grades 7-12 revealed that many of the books were XXX-rated pornography.
"We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview."
If you're not too squeamish, click here and scroll down for a list of quotes from some of the books, which includes literary masterpieces like Queer 13 and In Your Face. All of these books were recommended by GLSEN for children as young as 12. All were recommended while Jennings was executive director.
Jennings has written that, upon learning about a 15-year-old student's sexual encounter with an older man in a Boston bus station bathroom, he said to the student, "I hope you knew to use a condom." (The boy was later found to have been 16, not 15.) His group GLSEN once sponsored a mandatory seminar for students as young as 12 that taught various sexual techniques, including "fisting" (look it up). This is Barack Obama's point man in charge of keeping America's school safe.
