Car czar #1 headed to prison?

Before Mao Tse-tung enthusiast Ron Bloom was handed the position of car czar, there was Steve Rattner. Rattner managed the billion-dollars bailout to the automobile industry and the government takeover of GM and Chrysler. His good fortune has since run out.
New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said today that Steven Rattner, the banker and Democratic donor who led the Obama administration's restructuring of the automobile industry, remains under investigation in his office's long probe of the former New York State Comptroller, Alan Hevesi.
A top Hevesi aide, David Loglisci, pled guilty today to knowledge of corruption in the comptroller's office, where a top political aide, Hank Morris, allegedly controlled the contracts to manage hundreds of millions of dolllars. The original Loglisci indictment included the fact that Rattner, one of the politically-connected money managers who was given access to the money of New York State public workers, also financed a low-budget, money-losing movie called "Chooch," which happened to be produced by Loglisci's brother.
David Loglisci's brother, Steve, made the film "Chooch" backed by Rattner's financing. ("Chooch" is an Italian word connoting an idiot.) If Rattner dipped into state money to finance Steve Loglisci's film thanks to David's influence, the man who managed Obama's massive auto company bailout could be headed to prison.
Rattner resigned his position as car czar in May 2009, claiming he wanted to return to the private sector. More likely Obama knew investigators were circling and didn't want Rattner to become a liability. Rattner is being investigated chiefly by New York Attorney General and Senate hopeful Andrew Cuomo, a close ally of Obama's. It has yet to be seen whether Obama will pull a few strings to keep the former car czar safe.

Car czar wants Toyota taken down

Ron Bloom, Obama's car czar, has surfaced, buried at the end of a U.S. News and World Report blog entry. Columnist Peter Roff reports that Bloom may have been the catalyzing force behind the Toyota recall.
Whatever the reality concerning the performance of the Toyota vehicles, the investigations are themselves riddled with conflicts of interest. Thanks to President Barack Obama's multibillion-dollar bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, the agencies looking into the safety of the Toyota fleet are part of the same U.S. government that owns large chucks of the same GM and Chrysler that have been losing market share to Toyota and the other Japanese automakers for decades.
Sources who follow the issue suggest that Ron Bloom, the former White House car czar who is now a senior counselor on manufacturing issues, is at least partly to blame for keeping the spotlight focused on Toyota's troubles.
Bloom is an unelected czar charged with overseeing the reconstruction of America's domestic auto industry. The government initially put pressure on Toyota to recall their cars after it was revealed many Toyota models were suddenly accelerating, injuring and killing drivers. Toyota had the highest rate of sudden acceleration problems, although GM and Chrysler had plenty of incidents as well.
Bloom previously worked for the SEIU. Toyota, meanwhile, has refused to unionize its workers. Bloom is also charged with remaking the American auto industry, while Toyota is based in Japan. Bloom has previously said he agrees with mass murderer Mao Tse-tung that "Political power largely comes from the end of a gun." He has also said, "In today’s world the blather about free trade, free markets and the joys of competition is nothing but pablum for the suckers."

Obama pays back another corrupt loyalist

Looks like ACORN-style tactics are in style at the White House. Today the newspapers are filled with quotes from a spokesman at the Department of Transportation named Olivia Alair. Alair has been attacking Toyota for their recent massive recall of cars, which was ordered by her agency.
Alair is fortunate she's around to talk to the press, seeing as how she almost went to prison. In October 2008, Alair and twelve other Obama staffers registered to vote in Ohio, even though none of them actually lived there. At the time, Ohio was a fiercely contested swing state. It took a warning from prosecutor Ron O'Brien for Alair & Co. to withdraw their voting registration ballots. It was a smart move. Alair could have easily been arrested and tried with voter fraud.
ObamaWatchNews is all about watching who and where Obama pays back loyalty -- no matter how corrupt. Alair is a great example. During the 2008 campaign, she was a spokesman for Obama in Ohio. Now she's wreaking havoc at the DOT, defending GM and Chysler's interests by dumping on non-union Toyota.

The Obama administration's outrageous Toyota fearmongering

Barack Obama's administration continues its disgusting war on Toyota. Last week the auto giant recalled millions of cars after being pressured by Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood. The excuse was that too many complaints had been filed about Toyotas suddenly accelerating and crashing. Of course, there had also been complaints about government-owned GM and Chrysler cars, but strangely enough only Toyota was singled out.
Today, LaHood went a step further, urging drivers of affected Toyota models to return their cars to their dealership. Yes, during the worst recession since the Great Depression, a presidential administration actually asked people to send back their cars...even though the vast majority of Toyotas run wonderfully. Predictably, Toyota's stock plummeted.
Previously, Toyota had been the most successful competitor against GM and Chrysler. Its workforce also wasn't unionized, the Original Sin in the minds of liberals. Now Toyota's business has taken a severe hit and its executives are taking orders from the government. Welcome to Barack Obama's America.

Obama plays dirty with Toyota

Toyota has announced plans to recall and fix 7.5 million cars around the world -- all thanks to Barack Obama's administration. After reports of sudden acceleration in seven Toyota models came to its attention, Obama's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration put out a "consumer alert". When Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood got wind of this, he demanded that Toyota do a massive international recall of all these cars.
So why is the Obama Administration suddenly so interested in Toyota's acceleration problem. Let's look at the facts:
-- Barack Obama's government now owns GM and Chrysler which compete with Toyota.
-- Toyota has remained comparatively unaffected by the recession and gives GM and Chrysler the stiffest competition.
-- Toyota's plants, located in five states, are not unionized, a major liberal sin. They stand in stark contrast to GM and Chrysler where auto unions have huge ownership stakes thanks to Obama.
-- Will they bleat it's for public safety?? Well, GM and Chrysler have also had complaints filed about sudden acceleration problems, but they haven't received edicts from the government.
Obama's finally getting a head for business -- now that GM and Chrysler are under his control, it looks like he's trying to kneecap the remaining private car companies left in America.
